Entry level MSI NX8400GS-TD256EH

 

MSI announced its 8400GS, entry level DirectX 10 solution, NX8400GS-TD256EH.

There will be two card versions, depending on passive or active cooling. The one announced, according to the PR is a passivly cooled, low profile graphics card. It is based on the Nvidia 8400GS GPU it is clocked at 450MHz. The card comes with 256MB DDR2 memory that works at 800MHz on a 64bit memory interface.

The card also comes with PureVideo2 Technology, MSI's Exclusive Vivid Video Technology that should bring the easiest way to optimize graphics quality. It is interesting that MSI lists "HDMI support through DVI with optional plug", maybe MSI went where Zotac has been and put an SPDIF connector on board so you have a full HDMI over DVI with the adapter.
