Google to axe 200 employees
Another round of layoffs
Google has announced that it will lay off 200 additional employees in the second round of job cuts it has had this year.
The layoffs are reported to be in the sales and marketing division, which generates advertising dollars to help pay for Google’s e-mail service, its search engine expenses and other free services the Web site offers. Google posted in a blog that it had hired too many workers for similar positions over the past four-year growth period.
Google still has roughly 20,000 employees, even after the latest layoffs.
