Pricey, starting at $1,999
Dell has officially announced the Adamo, a stylish 13.4-inch notebook
powered by Intel Core 2 Duo CPUs. We've been waiting for the Adamo for
quite a while now, but in the end the price is a bit disappointing.
It's based on a 1.2GHz Core 2 Duo U9300 CPU and X4500 graphics, comes
with 2GB of memory and a 128GB SSD. Unfortunately, the best looking
Dell notebook doesn't come cheap, and prices start at $1.999. It weighs
four pounds, or 1.8kg, about 30 percent more than its competitors, such
as the Macbook Air and Lenovo X300, and even the upcoming MSI X340.
This is not looking like a good deal, as the Adamo is not only much
heavier than the competition, but also much more costly. Still we have
to admit it looks very good, but still not as good as the Air. Its
chassis is from a single piece of aluminum and it features a backlit
keyboard, and it will be available in two colour options, Onyx and
Pearl.
We hope Dell will adjust MSRP soon, as it really doesn't stand much of a chance with such a hefty price tag.
Dell says it will start shipping the Adamo on march 26th.
