Will not go away

A new
wave of socially engineered worms and trojans is targeting the social notworking site Facebook

For some reason Facebook users worldwide have been duped into downloading a worm called Koobface via fake video links and now a new variant to the worm emerged. This uploads a spoof YouTube page when you click on a video link, complete with a friend's profile picture.

Sometimes the video download, which may claim to contain hidden camera footage of you, or a famous celebrity, then encourages you to download an updated version of the Adobe Flash Player plug-in.

It is not clear why punters on Facebook are falling for the worm so easily as it has now been out for months and word has got out.  We guess it is the same people who reply to Nigerian scam emails.
