AMD doesn't seem interested either

Taiwanese motherboard manufacturers have reportedly decided to ditch CeBIT 2009 and focus their marketing efforts on Computex instead.

According to Digitimes, Gigabyte, ECS and Albatron won't have booths at CeBIT, although they will rent some rooms for visitors. Some other Taiwanese companies have decided to drop out too, mainly because of raids conducted by German authorities during last year's show in regard to some patent issues.

Oddly, AMD is also not listed on CeBIT's list of exhibitors, and Digitimes claims it too will just rent a convention room for visitors. It seems like a likely development, but AMD has stopped short of confirming it so far.

There's a lot of rumours that several other companies, including some big AIBs and motherboard makers might not show up at the show either, but we can't confirm these reports at this point.

More here.
