A 41-year old Briton has been convicted of killing his wife when she changed her relationship status on Facebook to "single".

Edward Richardson of Mayfield Road, Biddulph, was convicted of killing his estranged 26-year-old wife Sarah Richardson last year. After Sarah had changed her status on Facebook to single and didn't respond to his messages, Richardson became enraged and decided to go and see her.

Eventually, he stabbed Sarah to death at her parents' home, in Brown Lees, Staffordshire, after breaking in. He tried to commit suicide following the stabbing.
