Only way to make it cheapish enough

The IT
religious cult Apple is peddling its rejected gear second hand in China to take it out of the extreme luxury market and compete with PCs behind the Bamboo curtain.

The Apple online shop offers discounts of up to 22 percent of the new list price so it is not exactly a good deal for a used computer. What is worse for the Chinese is that the gear has all been returned to the Apple store as broken but has undergone quality tests to make sure it is still viable.

The kit is still extremely expensive by Chinese standards. A second hand iPod shuffle is being flogged for $44 and an iMac computer costs $2,047.  The average yearly salary in China is about $2025 so even second hand, an Apple is very expensive.
