12-inch display and more goodies

Samsung was late to join the netbook market, but now the company is set to launch another model in February next year, which sees the company moving away from the Intel Atom processor in favor of the VIA Nano.

The new netbook, which is rumoured to be called the NC20, is set to have a VIA Nano U225 processor which will be clocked at 1.3GHz; and we're not sure if this differs in any major way from the U2350, which is also clocked at 1.3GHz.

Samsung has also decided to go with a 12.1-inch display, and as such, the NC20 would be a direct competitor with the Dell Mini 12. The NC20 is also set to get a 160GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, a 3-in-1 memory card reader and a 1.3Megapixel Webcam.

The only downside would be the weight, as the NC20 is expected to come in at about 1.5kg, which is quite heavy, but we're sure it's a trade-off some are willing to do to get the larger screen. We're also curious as to which chipset Samsung will use, as VIA doesn't have very good solutions when it comes to graphics and video performance.

The NC20 is expected to retail for around €450 which seems reasonable considering the specifications.
