Shuttle Barebone X27D

Shuttle has announced a new product in its lineup of nettop barebones, the X27D. The X27D is also the first barebone to be powered by Intel's Atom 330 dual-core processor.

The new Shuttle X27D is based on Intel's 945GC+ICH7 express chipset paired up with Intel's Atom 330 dual-core processor working at 2x1.6GHz with a 533MHz FSB and 2x512kb of L2 cache. This CPU has rated TDP set at 8W, which is enough for Shuttle to passively cool it. The entire system is housed in a rather small X-type chassis which measures 250 x 185 x 70mm (LWH) or approximately 3.2 liters and has a net weight of 1.8kg. The motherboard inside is made in mini-ITX format and measures 17x17 cm. All in all, its small system that can be placed almost everywhere.

The rest of the specs include up to 2GB of DDR2-533/677 memory, integrated Intel GMA 950 for graphics, 5.1-channel Realtek audio, Gigabit LAN, two SATA and single IDE port, four USB 2.0 ports, and DVI and VGA D-sub ports on the back plate. The power is supplied by an external fanless 60W PSU.

According to the press release the new X27D should be available immediately with the suggested retail price set at €205. This little thing is already listed at Geizhals.at for under €215.
