On Friday, Dell took the wrapping paper off a 24-inch S2417DG gaming monitor packing 2560x1440 resolution, a variable refresh rate between 30Hz and 165Hz and Nvidia G-SYNC, along with a quick 1ms response time.

The company is describing its new product as “premium visuals fit for a champion,” adding that this particular display offers “no screen tearing, no stuttering and no ghost images” and ultimately “nothing to get in the way of your performance.” These claims are achieved through the display’s use of Ultra Low Motion Blur (ULMB) and flicker-free technologies.

As mentioned by TFTCentral.co.uk, however, it is important to note that ULMB will not work while G-SYNC is enabled – it’s one or the other. More information can be found on an overview of Dell’s 27-inch S2716DG here.

The Dell S2417DG 24-inch gaming monitor features a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 350cd/m2 brightness and 170-degree and 160-degree viewing angles with 16.7 million color depth and standard sRGB gamut.

The display offers three gaming preset modes for RPG, FPS and RTS environments, allowing gamers to spend less time reconfiguring display settings and more time enjoying their on-screen environments. The display also supports optional Nvidia 3D glasses, for the handful of individuals who enjoy and own a pair of Nvidia’s proprietary 3D glasses.

The display features one DisplayPort 1.2a port, one HDMI 1.4 port and four USB 3.0 ports. It is expected to become available in shops sometime in Q3 and priced around $570 USD.
