$10.22 billion revenue

Intel has
reported record revenues of $10.22 billion for Q3 2008, an increase of 8 percent over Q2 2008. Operating income was $3.1 billion, net income $2 billion and earnings per share 35 cents.

Intel delivered the best third-quarter revenue in its history,  said Paul Otellini, Intel president and CEO. We were solidly profitable, with operating income of over $3 billion, reflecting strong across-the-board execution and best-of-class products.

However, Otellini warned that at this point it's hard to know what effect the global financial crisis will have on Q4 2008 results. Intel is still confident it will weather the storm, thanks to a good product lineup and strong cash flow.

Revenue from Intel's Atom product series amounts to $200 million. The CPU average selling price has dropped slightly, mainly due to strong sales of cheap Atom processors.

In Q4 2008 Intel expects
total revenues in the $10.1 billion to $10.9 billion range. We can only say that Intel is doing a great job these days, they have a solid rock roadmap and the future looks bright for this chip giant, even through 2009.
