Rush your desktop

Microsoft has
finally worked out that users are getting hacked off having to wait days for Windows to come on. According to Cnet,  Microsoft is considering an option that could rush a usable desktop to your screen in just seconds.

The idea is called 'Instant On.' And it will make your computer go from being completely powered down or turned off to being usable in a very short amount of time.

Of course, you will not be able to run everything at once.  There will be some services that are not available and users will still have to wait.  But it does indicate that Microsoft is thinking that faster boot times are becoming a priority for developers creating Windows 7.

It looks like Microsoft would like to get most of Windows 7 ready for use within 15 seconds, but for those who cannot wait, Instant On should be appearing sooner.

CNet seems to think we will see it on some new PCs in time for Christmas.

Check it out here.
