Logitech has announced three new keyboards, the Illuminated Keyboard, the diNovo Keyboard for Notebooks and the Cordless Desktop S520, all three quite different from each other and only the last one comes bundled with a mouse.

The Illuminated Keyboard has as the name suggests back lit keys and Logitech has gone for a white backlight and claims that by using a combination of microlens reflectors, a multilayer painting process and laser etching this keyboard should have "brighter, sharper and easier to read" keys. The backlight can be adjusted via a dedicated key on the keyboard.

The keyboard also has a very low profile at 9.3mm, but somehow Logitech has managed to increase the key travel from 2.2 to 3.2mm. The Illuminated Keyboard also comes with a soft-touch palm rest, a transparent frame and a range of multimedia keys. It connects to the PC via USB.

The diNovo Keyboard for Notebooks doesn't seem to share the same design as its desktop siblings and it looks a bit dull in our opinion compared to Logitech's other diNovo products and we're not sure why you would get this over any other keyboard for your notebook. The only advantage we can see is that this is a cordless keyboard without a mouse, so for those that already have a cordless mouse they're happy with, this might be a suitable alternative.

Other features include a brushed aluminium wrist rest and a quoted battery life of up to three years which sounds mighty impressive. The diNovo Keyboard for Notebooks relies on Logitech's 2.4GHz wireless technology.

Finally we have the Cordless Desktop S520 which is an update to the Cordless Desktop S510 with a new mouse and design. A lot of the extra keys are gone, although a few of them have been moved to just above the palm rest, although we can't say that we're too keen on this design, as you might end up hitting those buttons by mistake.

The new cordless mouse features laser technology instead of LED technology as on the S510 and the battery life of the mouse is good for up to eight months while the keyboard has a battery life of up to 15 months.

The Illuminated Keyboard will hit retail in the U.S. and Europe October for a MSRP of US$79.99 (€55), the diNovo Keyboard for Notebooks will be available at the same time, but worldwide, for US$99.99 (€69) and finally the Cordless Desktop S520 will come out sometime this month for US$59.99 (€41.50).
