Aimed at high-end office and business users

Logitech has unveiled the sucessor to its well known Performance Mouse MX, the new Logitech MX Master.

Just like the good old Performance Mouse MX, the new Logitech MX Master is also a high-end mouse aimed at office and business users, rather than gamers. Featuring Logitech's Darkfield Laser Sensor, which works at 1000dpi or anywhere between 400 and 1600dpi (in 200dpi increments) set via software.

That same sensor should allow the MX Master mouse to work on any surface, including glass and high-gloss surfaces and can be connected to any system via either USB port Unifying 2.4GHz WiFi Receiver or Bluetooth Smart. Apparently, you can pair up to three devices and easily switch between them with dedicated button.

The new Logitech MX Master comes in a relatively big package, 85.7x126x48.4mm, and weighs 145g. Logitech says it features a hand-sculpted comfort contour design which "keeps your hand and wrist in a comfortable, natural position." It also feature 5 buttons and two wheels, one standard top and thumb-wheel meant to be used for side-to-side scrolling.

Since it is a wireless mouse, it also comes with rechargable 500mAh battery that should last up to 40 days on a single full charge, according to Logitech, and uses a standard micro-USB cable for recharging.

According to Logitech, the new MX Master should be available in April with a price set at US $99.99. Currently, it is available directly from Logitech's store but should show up on popular retail/e-tail shelves soon as well.
