Can't do the maths

Google's
calculator software cannot add up, according to News.com.

Apparently the company's, which is named after a huge number, has released a calculator that cannot actually deal with them. 2,999,999,999,999,999 minus 2,999,999,999,999,998 should be 1, but Google's calculator shows it as 0.

Ironically, Google muffs maths involving a googol, which is 1 followed by 100 zeros. A googol plus one, minus a googol, equals 0 rather than the correct result which is 1.

To be fair an ordinary calculator would have some problems with some of this big stuff too and most handheld calculators don't even let you type a googol.

In a statement Google acknowledged its googol math was pants  and it was looking into this problem further.
