Nintendo's milky Wii console is still managing to embarrass Sony. Last month it outsold Sony's Playstation 3 by more than 3-to-1 on the Japanese market.

According to game magazine Enterbrain, Nintendo flogged 171,851 consoles, compared with 54,823 units of Sony's PlayStation 3.

However, Sony did manage to outsell Nintendo in the handheld market, selling 256,765 PSPs compared to 217,639 Nintendo DS units.
