The daft
customer service team at HP tried to charge a bloke $1,000 to fix a problem of water under the keyboard.

The bloke in question had only sent his still-under-warranty HP laptop in to be serviced for a bad hinge. When he took it into the shop the laptop was drier than a temperance activist in the Sahara.

According to Crunch Gear, the punter, identified as Zack, wondered how all this water could get into the hermetically sealed keyboard and why it had not leaked onto the motherboard.

HP customer support then told Zack he could receive his computer back, but it may "blow up." It is amazing how a dodgy hinge can escalate into something that may explode on your lap. Still that is life.
