Microsoft confirms delay till after first of the year

As if things could not get any stranger for the Xbox One arrival, Microsoft has confirmed that they will be delaying the launch of the Xbox One till after the first of next year for eight countries. Russia, Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark are the eight countries that will have to wait till after the first of the year.

According to Microsoft the delay is due to the need to meet initial demand, but some sources are saying that the real reason is that they are still working on the localization and currency issues that need to be completed for the Xbox One so that it can be fully completed when it launches in these counties.

Those in the eight affected counties will be getting a free game with each launch edition console purchased. No word yet on what the free game will be. The free game apparently only applies to those that pre-order the launch day edition of the console and the game will be a pack-in, so it will be in the box with your console when you get it.

At this point we again have to wonder if Microsoft can have anything else go wrong with the launch of the Xbox One? We have to give Microsoft a break here and hope that this is the last issue or change that they have to make before launch. To be honest we are having a difficult time keeping up with all of the changes.
