Will be broadcast by Verizon over V Cast

The long-running band, Pearl Jam, has entered into a deal with Verizon Wireless’s V Cast service to sell select recorded tracks from live, authorized “bootlegs” of concerts.

Pearl Jam begins its summer tour of 12 cities next week and will allow three tracks from each of its concerts to be available immediately afterward. The authorized bootleg recordings will be broadcast by Verizon’s V Cast and at PearlJamConcerts.com. The Bonnaroo Music Festival is excluded from this deal, however.

V Cast tracks will be dual downloads, which means that once they have been purchased they are sent to the user’s mobile phone and their computer. V Cast tracks will feature DRM software.

The band will also offer DRM-free digital tour bootlegs for sale in FLAC format, and an MP3 option will also be available in digital versions exclusively on PearlJam.com within two weeks after each concert. Customers will download the content through their individual PC browsers.
