Likely to appear at CES 2014

As you may have already heard, LG bought WebOS from HP as it intends to implement it in its own smart TVs. According to details gathered by TheVerge.com, it appears that WebOS smart TVs are scheduled for next year with a possible appearance at  the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2014.

According to LG's VP of Communications, John Taylor, WebOS is in "fast track developement" and, although it will not be seen this year, LG expects its "soon thereafter". LG is apparently very serious in implementing the WebOS in its smart TV lineup as it is expected to be available in a wide choice of screen sizes and price points.

LG's North America VP of Smart TV, Samuel Chang noted that LG is "very confident WebOS technology is a gamechanger when it comes to user experience" and should help to bring content back to smart TV, tablets, PCs and other products. LG also plans to revamp WebOS' touch interface for use on TVs but has shed very little details regarding it.

LG apparently already has a demo unit and has noted that the WebOS buy might sound strange but only because LG did not reveal any details on it and that they are very confident in their plans.
