Photoshopped Apple iBook ad?

Eee PC News has found what has to be the most hilarious piece of advertising cockup in the history of computer companies. Think everywhere girl, and you'll have an idea of what has happened. Both Asus and MSI decided to use the same photo of some poor kid in an orange wooly hat to represent their latest ultra low cost notebooks.

Yes, you read that correct, they're both using the same picture, it's just been photoshoped slightly differently. We have no idea how they managed to mess up this badly, but the Eee PC ad from Asus and the Wind notebook ad from MSI are using the same original image.

It looks like the original image features the little lad in front of an iBook and it might even have been used for some kind of Apple advertising in the past. It also looks like the ad team at Asus figured the poor lad needed to get some extra makeup, as they brightened his cheeks and added some lipstick for good measure.

It looks like budgets are tight in both camps, but you'd think they at least keep an eye on what the competition is doing. Hopefully, they'll learn from this one and try a bit harder next time.
