Notch not interested in Windows 8

by on28 September 2012

Microsoft offers to help get it certified

Notch Persson has let Microsoft know that they should stop trying to ruin the PC as an open platform, and to that end he has rejected Microsoft’s offer of help in getting Minecraft certified for Windows 8. Via Twitter, he announced the Email he received from Microsoft and his response to them.

Persson has spoken out against Windows 8; and his belief is that Microsoft could lock down Windows 8, which would be very bad for indie games and competition in general. Persson claims he would rather that Minecraft not run on Windows 8, rather than to play along.
