It's going to be bigger than ever before

Earlier today, Fudzilla attended a pre-Computex press conference held by TAITRA, where some interesting facts about this year's show came to light. TAITRA is expecting some 35,000 foreign visitors to show up this year for Computex and the show will be bigger than ever before, thanks to the new TWTC exhibition hall in Nangang.

The number of exhibitors has gone up by over 28 percent since last year, and largely thanks to the new exhibition hall the amount of booths have been increased by over 53 percent, which converts to over 1,700 exhibitors across 4,482 booths. One booth measures 3x3 meters and the booths are allocated depending on company revenues, which means bigger companies get bigger booths.

It's not all good news, though, as the new exhibition hall is located in the outskirts of Taipei and it will take at least 30 minutes to travel there by shuttle bus. However, TAITRA will have more than 10 shuttle busses between the two exhibition areas, all of which will be equipped with WiMAX to enable people to have Internet access while in transit.

Alongside Computex, the WiMAX Expo Taipei will also be going on, although it starts and finishes one day earlier than Computex. This year's theme for Computex will be green computing, new style notebooks (think Eee PC style devices) and as you've most likely already guessed, WiMAX.

You can find out more about Computex 2008 here and it all kicks off on the 3rd of June and runs until the 7th of June.
