HP releases low-cost print ideas
Targeted at small businesses
HP has rolled out what it claims is its broadest-ever commercial range of printers for small businesses.
The package includes 25 new printing methods, including new Web-based printing tools. According to a press release the company has also released new color printers and multifunction printers optimized for producing professional-quality marketing materials, business collaterals and everyday documents quickly and affordably in-house.
It is hoped that the small customers will be able to print when and how they want – in-house, at retail or through a print service provider. HP expects the small and medium business market to be worth US$103 billion globally by 2010.
Among the printers are the entry-level colour laser printer CP 1215, which offers Colorsphere technology and inline single-pass printing, can also print in black at the same cost-per-page as a monochrome printer. There is also the multi-function printer CM 1312, which has instant-on scanning and printing and a single-function monochrome printer P4515 which claims to have broken the one-second-per-page barrier at a printing capacity of 62 pages per minute.
HP seems to think that it will be available in the E.U. in May.
