Android updates coming to Nexus 7, Galaxy Nexus

by on11 July 2012

That didn’t take long

The Nexus 7 has yet to hit retail, but Google has already started rolling out the first Android update for its latest device.

In case you get your hands on a Nexus 7 by the end of the week, chances are it will get an Android 4.1.1 update as soon as you power it up. Good news for Galaxy Nexus users, too. Google is rolling out Jelly Bean for the HSPA+ version of the handset.

Next up, other versions of the Galaxy Nexus, followed by Nexus S and Motorola Xoom devices. So, if you are the proud owner of a HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus, you will receive the update over the next few days. Let’s hope the update for the Nexus S and Xoom won’t be far behind.
