"More work on Android 4.0 ICS is needed"

Samsung told the press on Wednesday that it will be delaying its much-anticipated Galaxy Tab 2 (7-inch) and Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1-inch) tablets until the end of April, claiming that it needs more time to work on driver support and a seamless user experience for the Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

As we reported prior to Mobile World Congress 2012, the company's third-generation Galaxy Tab devices (yes, the third-generation is "Galaxy Tab 2") will be available in 3G and Wi-Fi versions. The 7-inch model has a 1024 x 600 resolution and weighs 345 grams (12.2 ounces), while the 10.1-inch model has a 1280 x 800 resolution and weighs 588 grams (20.1 ounces).

The company originally announced the two products in February at Mobile World Congress 2012 with a release date sete for March in the United Kingdom, followed by a global launch shortly after. But the end of March came and went, and the tablets didn't go on sale. Of course, a few more weeks shouldn't be that much longer to wait for most.
