Argueably one of the world's worst dates, Julian Assange will play himself in the 500th episode of The Simpsons.

Simpsons exec producer Al Jean says that series creator Matt Groening heard a rumor that the polarizing and elusive activist who runs the whistle-blowing website was interested in guest-starring on the series. He recorded his lines in a secret location unknown to Simpsons producers and was directed him remotely from Los Angeles.

Our Hollywood correspondent tells us that the episode tells the story of how Homer and Marge discover that the residents of Springfield are holding a secret town meeting to kick them out of Springfield. They go into hiding in a rugged place where they meet Assange who invites them over for a home movie and it’s an Afghan wedding being bombed.

At no point does he attempt to have sex with Marge and the condom breaks.
