Alienware has updated its Area-51 gaming desktop, which is available now with both Nvidia's 790i Ultra SLI motherboard and a single Geforce 9800 GX2 card.
Alienware's Area-51 is also available with dual HD 3870 X2 in CrossfireX, but this Nvidia option is more interesting since the launch happened yesterday. We mentioned a single Geforce 9800 GX2, since Quad-SLI is still not ready, but it should go live on the 25th.
The Area-51 system starts at US$2.099 with a 2.66Ghz Core 2 Duo, 2GB of memory, a 250GB hard drive, and a 750W PSU. This price includes an overclocked Geforce 9600GT card, and the new Geforce 9800 GX2 adds $600 to the price. According to various sources these new systems should start shipping on April 10th.
