DLC code issues continue for Arkham City

by on20 October 2011

Problems make us again question the entire thing

Warner Interactive is still apparently having issues with the included DLC codes that were in the Batman: Arkham City discs. Those with problems will have to follow a pretty complex process to get a new code generated to resolve the issue when they contact Warner customer service.

What you apparently have to do is the following:

•    Make an electronic copy of your proof of purchase receipt or invoice that shows that you purchased a new copy of the game (and not a copy that was used or purchased from eBay).

•    Be ready to submit your Xbox Live Gamertag (if you own the Xbox 360 version) or your PSN profile name (if you own the PlayStation 3 version).

•    You will have to provide an Email address.

•    You will need a scan or digital picture of the package and the game disc.

•    You will need a scan or digital picture of both sides of the code sheet.

Once you have all of this information, the Warner Customer Service rep will provide you with an Email address where you can submit this information and you will need to send it to them. Once Warner has it, then apparently they will look at what you sent; and if it is all in order, they will then “escalate” the issue so a new DLC code can be generated (and we assume Emailed) back to you.

Sounds like a lot of extra pain and work to us, and it makes us question the validity of the entire method publishers are using. If they are going to use pack-in codes, then the codes had better work. We can tell you that right or wrong, this is a lot to have to do to get your promised DLC that was represented as included with the game. Customers are not happy, and this complicated experience is sure to leave a black eye on the entire launch of this title.
