Court ruling pulls the breaks on Galaxy Tab sales

by on10 August 2011

Apple wins EU-wide injunction
A German court has ruled in favor of Apple and granted a temporary injunction preventing Samsung from selling Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablets on nearly all EU markets.

Tech cult Apple claims Samsung copied iPad and iPhone features in Galaxy series products and it is seeking to prevent Galaxy Tab sales in the US as well. The legal dispute has already prompted Samsung to delay Galaxy’s release in Australia.

In response to Apple's legal onslaught, Samsung filed countersuits against Apple in Germany, the US, South Korea and Japan. Oddly, Galaxy Tab 10.1 is still kosher for sale in the Netherlands, as Apple’s injunction request is being handled by a different court there.
