Almost works too

The
latest Beta of Firefox 3.0 has a new anti-malware blocker that prevents some malicious pages from loading. Called Malware Protection, the tool warns users when they steer Firefox to sites that are known to install viruses, spyware, Trojan horses and other malicious code.

The system is quite simple and is based on a blacklist. If a user strays to a suspect page a large red warning appears and tells you that the intended destination, "has been reported as an attack site and has been blocked based on your security preferences."

You can press a button marked 'get me out of here' that returns to the homepage. It is a good idea, but unfortunately, limited by the ability to keep a viable black list of bogus sites. In this case the list is provided by Google, which also runs the anti-phishing blocker used in Firefox 2.00.

Firefox 3.0 Beta 3 can be downloaded for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux in
32 languages from Mozilla's site.
