Creative has posted some new X-Fi drivers for Windows XP on its Web site. These drivers are dated January 9th 2008, but we managed to miss them since the chance of Creative releasing a new driver is equal to the chance of HD DVD making a glorious comeback.
These new drivers might have some connection to the high-end PCIe audio card that Creative is prepping, which we wrote about during CES 2008. According to the info we managed to get then, the new high-end card will be X-Fi based and will be something similar to the Elite Pro edition or a Fatal1ty version.
According to the release notes, the new Creative XP Beta Driver 2.14.0001 driver resolves issues for systems with 4GB of memory, and resolves the Digital I/O detection issue when restarting the computer. These drivers support the entire series of X-Fi cards and it is still in Beta stage, at least for now. You can download the 38.43 MB driver here.
