Change is in the air

Michael Dell might be abandoning his obsession with direct sales. For years Dell has been built on selling directly to customers over the phone and internet.

According to the NY Times, Dell has written an email to his employees saying that while the direct sales model has been "a revolution it is not a religion".

This seems to imply that the direct sales model should be changed and replaced with something new.

Dell’s memo didn't give any ideas about the company's future direction. He said that the company will "continue to improve its business model, and go beyond it, to give our customers what they need".
