Will offer HD resolution screen
The cat seems to be out of the bag regarding the next PlayStation Portable, or PSP2, if you will. Sources seem to think that Sony is actually showing a new prototype to developers to get feedback.

The new PSP2 is said to sport a new screen that is about one inch larger than the screen in current units. Sony is reportedly calling this new screen an HD display, as it apparently supports higher resolutions. The rear of the unit is said to be similar to a large mouse trackpad that is used for input. While there is no word on exactly how this might be used, it is an interesting feature nonetheless.

Sony is apparently targeting the release of the PSP2 for the fall of 2011, which does stand to reason if the company is planning to announce it at E3 next year, as rumored. The prototype that Sony is showing off isn’t without its problems; whispers suggest that Sony might be encountering some overheating issues with the prototype. Of course, if this is true, this issue would be resolved before actual release.
