Boeing's new 787 Dreamliner has a serious security vulnerability in its onboard computer networks. The system is so bad that a person sitting on the plane could take control of the aircraft without having to leave their seat.

According to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, the network in the Dreamliner's passenger compartment is supposed to give passengers in-flight internet access. However, it is connected to the plane's control, navigation and communication systems.

The Dreamliner is in the final stages of production and when it is finished it will seat between 210 and 330 people. There are more than 800 advance orders for the new plane, which should be flying in November 2008. The FAA has said that the planes will not be flying in the U.S. unless Boeing fixes the network problem.
