Plaxo up for sale
Address book update
Online address book, Plaxo, is up for sale. According to news.com, the site, which has never made money, comes with a price tag of $100 million.
The thing that the site does best is keep Outlook and Thunderbird updated; however, it has failed to cash in since it moved to trying to be a social networking site. In October, it started Plaxo Pulse, which collects information from Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Digg and others.
Because the site sends out e-mail from users to keep their address books up to date it found itself blocked from some sites as a spammer. It claims it has 15 million users.
