Hybrid CrossFire only for entry level

Only as fast as its slowest part x2

Some more information about AMD's upcoming Hybrid CrossFire and RS780 chipset has appeard on PC Perspective, and they're pointing out an important difference between Hybrid CrossFire and Hybrid SLI, RS780 based systems will only be twice as fast as the slowest denominator, i.e., the IGP.

This means that there's no point going beyond the upcoming Radeon HD 34x0 series, as this would actually reduce the performance of your graphics card. Nvidia, on the other hand, has so far claimed that even its high-end card will reap a benefit from Hybrid SLI, albeit only a very small increase.
