2007 is going to be hard to beat

2007 was a good year to be a PC gamer, and that isn’t something that we could have said in the past couple of years with all of the previous focus on the high profile console titles. 2007 saw the release of many titles including Orange Box, Call of Duty 4, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Crysis, BioShock, STALKER, Hellgate: London, World in Conflict, and Unreal Tournament 3. We can’t remember a time when PC gamers received so many great titles in one year.

2008 could even be better with the release of Frontlines: Fuel of War, Rage, Brother’s In Arms: Hell’s Highway, Alone in the Dark, Left 4 Dead, Borderlands, Huxley, Ghostbusters, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Vegas 2, STALKER; Clear Sky, Turok, Sins of a Solar Empire, Spore, Age of Conan, Warhammer Online, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, Far Cry 2, Fallout 3, Empire: Total War, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction, Alan Wake, Devil May Cry 4, Mercenaries 2: Word in Flames, and, of course, the eagerly awaited Starcraft 2.

Being fans of the Battlefield series, we are most excited to have a look at Frontlines: Fuel of War from the same team that developed the Desert Combat mod for Battlefield 1942. This title features the use of the Unreal 3 engine and is currently in closed Beta testing now. According to publisher THQ and KAOS studios that title is on track to ship in the first quarter of 2008 for PC. Frontlines: Fuel of War could be the first in a long list of “A” titles to make 2008 another great year of PC gaming.

Shacknews has a quick look at what to expect for games on the PC in 2008 and we have to say that it is shaping up to be another stellar year to be a PC gamer.
