Step one in getting S.T.A.L.K.E.R. to the 360
GSC CEO Sergiy Gygorovych recently announced in a letter the other day that GSC has become a certified developer for the Xbox 360. This is good news since many have been waiting for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. on the Xbox 360 since hints of a possible release surfaced last year.
In the announcement Gygorovych was clear that the PC will continue to be the primary platform that they will develop for and they continue work on the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. sequel, Clear Sky, which is currently in development. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has received a bad rap over the past couple of years for a lot of hype, but missed released dates caused the company to get lumped into the vaporware category until the game was finally released. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. sold over 100,000 copies and received positive reviews; however, many reviews continued to be critical of the bugs within the game. Since its release GSC has released several patches to clean up some of the bugs within the software.
While no release date was announced for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. on the Xbox 360, it is obvious that it is slated for future release. GSC had better not wait too long or Xbox 360 owners may lose interest in an otherwise good title for the console market space.
