Case should have been heard a decade ago
A U.S. Federal Appeals court has rejected Go Computer's antitrust appeal against Microsoft. The company claims that Microsoft forced Go out of business ten years ago. A trial judge dismissed the case last year, but the pen computing company appealed.
The lawsuit claimed Microsoft took anti-competitive measures against Go nearly 20 years ago; it pressured Intel to keep its distance from the new company, coerced other developers not to write software for Go, misappropriated trade secrets and created a competitor to Go's PenPoint called "PenWindows."
However, Microsoft did not really manage to clear its name. Microsoft won because the statute of limitations had expired. If Go had filed the lawsuit over a decade earlier, it might have gone somewhere.
