Linux Driver Project wants work
Open source more workable than some realize
Novell's Greg Kroah-Hartman, who is the head of the Linux Driver Project, wants people to tell him about devices that need Linux drivers.
Kroah - Hartman said that while the Linux Driver Project now has more than 300 different developers signed up to help create and maintain Linux drivers, there is not enough work to keep them occupied. He indicated that some companies are reluctant to open their devices to open source and to the project.
Kroah-Hartman thinks that prior problems with Linux drivers were a bit overstated, as there are not many hardware devices that lack workable drivers.
