Pan-Pacific cable being discussed

Google is
reportedly in preliminary discussions with a group that is interested in laying a high-speed, trans-Pacific undersea fiber optic cable. The project could benefit Google greatly abroad since bandwidth is an issue that all countries in the Pacific Rim are looking at.

The economies in that region continue to grow, and Google could offer Internet-based services to business as a result of the undersea cable. It makes perfect sense to us that Google would consider investing in such a project.
