Intel Chief Executive Officer Paul Otellini has indicated that he might speed up work on the Nehalem chip in a bid to keep AMD on the ropes.
The move will upstage AMD's Barcelona chip, which the general consensus indicates is already behind anything that Intel offers.
According to Bloomberg, Otellini may move up the schedule for shrinking the size of the wires inside semiconductors by 25 percent, to 45
nanometers.
