We’ve been checking Austrian, German and European versions of the price comparison site, Geizhals.at, and we were shocked to notice that nine out of the ten most searched cards are ATI's.

Most customers are searching for Radeon HD 4870 and 4850 from Sapphire, Power Color, in 1GB and 512MB flavors, and one of the cards was an HD 4670 at press time.

On the Austrian Geizhals site, Gainward was the only Nvidia partner listed as a top ten search and it was stable for a few days at sixth place with its Geforce GTX 280 priced at around €350. In German Geizhals, Leadtek was there with Geforce GTX 260 for about €200 and that was it. The rest of the cards are Radeon HD 4870 and 4850.

We are following this site for at least a few years, and we can tell you that this never happened before. In the best case scenario for ATI, it was close to fifty – fifty and now we are seeing nine out of ten queries being about ATI-based products.
