€69, 70W energy consumption
A couple of European retailers have jumped the gun, listing Sapphire's HD4670 this morning. We already talked about HIS cards, here, but this time we've got a somewhat more accurate listing.
Sapphire's reference clocked card (750MHz core) in a light retail/bulk pack costs €69, while the full retail pack costs €76. Most HD3850 cards retail in the same price region. The HD4670 has similar specs, but it HD4670 has a 128-bit memory bus, while the HD3850 has a 256-bit bus.
With a maximum energy consumption rated at 70W, the new card is a lot more efficient than the HD3850 with a max consumption of 100W. It doesn't need additional power and has no 6-pin power connector. For comparison, the old HD3650 uses 75W, Nvidia's 9600GT sucks up 95W, while the low-end 9500GT uses 50W.
Thanks to low consumption and good thermals, we're guessing a lot of vendors will seize the opportunity and offer passive versions of this card soon after launch.
