PowerColor is going to launch a GDDR4 HD 3870X2 graphics card with custom cooling. The memory runs at 1125MHz, and the entire PCB is a bit shorter than the reference one. 

The GDDR4 version is a bit shorter and will also use a custom dual slot cooling solution with four heatpipes. This cooling solution should also help to gain a bit higher core clock, and help with additional cooling of Samsung GDDR4 memory chips. The “naked” version we've seen includes three DVI ports and one native HDMI port. The custom dual slot card will probably will probably get higher GPU clocks, while the four port version will end up at reference 825MHz for the core.

The card should be ready soon as PowerColor is working hard to get it out, and according to the information we have, the GDDR4 version will be €40-50 more expensive. It is just left to be seen how great the performance boost actually is, and whether the inclusion of GDDR4 memory justifies the additional cost.
