Roadmap: First of many

Intel plans to launch a brand new Celeron Dual Core Processor, the E1200, on the 20th of January. The company plans to launch a wide range of CPUs on this date.

This particular one works at 1.60GHz times two, uses a FSB 800MHz bus and fits in LGA775 sockets. It will cost US$54 each, and we are sure that you will be able to overclock it heavily.

This CPU really looks exactly like a castrated Pentium Dual-Core processor, the E2140 to be more precise, as the only difference is that the new Celeron has 512KB of L2 cache while the Pentium dual core E2140 has 1MB.
