55 nanometer in Q1 08

AMD is getting ready to unveil its 55 nanometer version of the current entry level and mainstream chips and its RV620 low-end chip at 55 nm is almost ready.

ATI will go for the quiet transition and obviously both RV620 and RV635 will be less expensive, smaller, and will have lower heat dissipation. OEM’s will definitely embrace these chips and we are sure that you can expect a mobile version of them.

Nvidia still has to launch its first 65 nanometer entry level, and even when that happens ATI will be a step ahead with its smaller and cooler chips.

The expected launch is in Q1 2008.
