Semi-skimmed, Celeron 723 SKU coming

Lenovo's X200s ultraportable has been around for a while now, and it's been a popular choice for business users thanks to its low weight compared to the regular X200. Compared to the X200, the "s" version is some 300g lighter, it has no optical drive and it's quite pricey.

However, Lenovo is apparently planning a recession friendly version powered by Intel's Celeron M723 CPU, with 2GB of memory and a 160GB hard drive. So far, all X200s SKUs were powered by Intel's SL9x00 series Core 2 Duo processors, and most featured bigger hard drives or even SSDs. Obviously, they weren't cheap, with prices starting at about €1300.

Hopefully the new Celeron-based version will have a much more reasonable price tag, we're guessing under €1000.
