Presentation slides for ATI’s upcoming 40nm RV740-based HD 4770 have leaked, and are suggesting that this card will be the king of the $99 turf for a while.

The reasons for this are plenty – the performance you get for this money used to cost a small fortune a couple of years back, and it seems ATI has developed a taste for delivering excellent goods for low buck. 

The slides show the HD 4770 beating the 8800GT/9800GT at some pretty high resolutions, and considering that 9800GT costs anywhere between $120-140, Nvidia will be in a world of pain when it comes to price adjustments.
